Festivals

Tamnaguk Ipchun Gutnori
Feb. 11 to 12, from Jeju City Hall to Gwandeokjeong. 064-728-2714.
This ritual, which marks the beginning of spring according to the solar calendar, is a reenactment of the traditional rite where exorcists, a local magistrate, and administrators convened at Gwandeokjeong along with local residents to wish for a bountiful harvest and to drive away bad spirits.

Halla Mountain Tour Shuttle Bus
Until Feb. 6. every Saturday and Sunday. 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (interval 30 minutes), from Jeju Welcome Center to Eorimok Entrance of Mt. Halla. 064-740-6000. Transport by shuttle bus is free.


Sports

2011 Jeju International Peace Marathon
Mar. 27. 9 a.m. Hallim Stadium, Hallim-eup, Jeju City. 064-748-9021.
The deadline to sign-up is Feb. 28 and can be done online at marathon.jejumbc.com.
Events: full-course, a half-course, citizens’ course (10km) and health course (5km).
Fees: full-course, 30,000 won; half-course, 30,000 won; citizens’ course, 20,000 won; health course, 20,000 won.
