Word is getting out that Korea is a desirable location for international gatherings, and Jeju is at the top of the list for locations in Korea.

According to the international meetings statistics for the year of 2008, done by Union of International Associations (UIA), Jeju Special Self-Governing Province has done a great job in holding many of the internationally significant conventions held last year, in Korean and in general.

Along with several Asian nations including Singapore and Japan, Korea is now standing as one of the top three Asian countries successfully holding major international events. Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, ranking thrity-seventh in the world and eighth among Asian countries in the categories of both “Meetings of international organizations” and “Other international meetings (3 days),” has reportedly held 53 meetings total.

This is a great growth from the accomplishments made in previous years. While other factors were of course involved, one of the many components that set Jeju as the most capable location for the major world-class meetings is the International Convention Center Jeju, at the Jungmun Tourist Resort.

Its eye-alluring building, state of the art amenities and the high technological facilities do a great job on making the participants feel comfortable during the convention meetings.

The ASEAN-KOREA summit held from June 1-2 was one of the successful examples that had a huge impact on showing off Jeju as the best location for the meetings and conventions. In the near future an increasing number of major international conventions, including Delphic Games, will be held at the ICC Jeju.
