As of June 1, the Korean International School and the North London Collegiate School Jeju, both set to open in the Jeju Global Education City this September, will start to recruit Korean students for younger grades. Previously, only foreign students were permitted to apply.

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education announced that it will allow the the international schools to recruit younger students from Korea because of an alteration to the special law that makes it possible for Korean kindergartners and younger grade students to be admitted into the international schools.

Starting June 1, the Korean International School began recruiting first to third grade students. A total of 60 Korean students will be recruited; 20 students per grade, and one Jeju resident will be granted special admission.

As for NLCS Jeju, it will recruit a total of 120 Korean students, 24 for each grade, for a reception class (4-year-old students), as well as for first grade through fourth grade. The application period will end on June 10.

For further inquiries, call the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education, 064-710-0451.
