An Oreum information office will be opened to help show people the value of the 368 oreum (volcanic cones) of Jeju.
Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on July 20 that the oreum information office, which covers an area of 61m², will open September of this year, at the entrance of the Darang-shi oreum trail.
An official familiar with the project said that for effective operation of the office, the province will provide education materials about various oreum and assign expert guides to the office. Also, many programs will be operated from the office.
The oreum information office is expected to contribute to informing Jeju citizens about the geological, historical, cultural and ecological value of Jeju oreum.
