Park Do Gyu, 40, has won the Korean Golf Tour Johnny Walker Open (with prize money totalling 400 million won and a top prize of 60 million won). His last win was at the 2007 Yeonwoo Heaven Land Open. He has five career tour wins.

On Aug. 7, the final round of the tournament, held at the Jeju Ora Golf Course, was canceled due to heavy rain and high winds from the outer edges of Typhoon Muifa. Sunday saw Jeju experience 30 m/s winds and between 200 and 400 mm of rain.

The day before, at the end of the third round, Park was 12 under par at 204 strokes, beating Kim Sung Yoon, 29, by one stroke. In the Korea Golf Tour, the last time someone in their 40s won the championship was in 2009 by 45-year-old Kang Wook Sun.
