World-famous detective Sherlock Holmes will come to Jeju this weekend.
The musical “Sherlock Holmes,” directed by Noh Woo Sung, the owner of the musical theatre company LEHI, will be shown at the Jeju Arts Center on Oct. 15 to 16. The plot of the musical begins when Sherlock Holmes and his trusty partner Dr. John H. Watson are dispatched to solve the case of the Anderson family and a missing woman.
The musical opened this year to great success after three years of preparation. In its debut, “Sherlock Holmes” sold 98 percent of the theatre’s seats every day from July 29 to 31 in Anyang City in Gyeonggi province. It also sold out in Seoul during the period of Aug. 6 to Sept. 25.

Now in its Jeju run, “Sherlock Holmes” will feature professional musical actors including Bang Jin Ui, winner of the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival’s Outstanding Musical Performance award. Also, popular stars Kim Won Jun, a famous Korean pop singer and musical actor, and the promising and powerful singer Bae Da Hye are expected to attract the audiences’ attention.
Ticket prices are 50,000 won for VIP seats, 40,000 won for R seats, and 30,000 won for A seats. There are discounts of 50 percent for 4.3 victims, 30 percent for groups, and 20 percent for those who voted for the N7W campaign more than 10 times.
