On Jan. 16 the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Center (JDC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Hospital for Sick Children based in Canada.
With this MOU being signed, the JDC plans to utilize the hospital’s well-known management system and know-how.
The hospital showed interest in Jeju’s Health Care Town, especially due to Jeju’s clean environment, and attractive investment options. In addition, this will be the Hospital for Sick Children’s first such agreement in Asia.
JDC CEO Byon Jong Il and the president and CEO of the Hospital for Sick Children Mary Jo Haddad signed the MOU in Toronto, Canada. JDC representatives, including Byon, had a tour of SickKids Hospital.
The SickKids Hospital, which focuses mainly on treating children under 18 years of age, was established by the Hospital for Sick Children in 1875.
