The Jeju weather office is warning of heavy snowfall for parts of the island which will begin this evening and continue through to the weekend.

Along the coast 3 to 8 centimeters of snow are forecast, while on and around Mt. Halla, from 10 to 30 centimeters are predicted. Some locations may even see 50 centimeters.

With a drop in temperature to negative numbers, officials have warned hikers and drivers to be cautious, as conditions may change quickly.
