In an effort to promote the island’s horse industry, discounted public horseback riding classes will be provided at the Jun Horseback Riding Club, located on road 1117 in Jeju City. The classes, sponsored by Jeju City, are organized by the Federation of Horseback Riding Jeju City. The federation will teach 50 beginners and 20 intermediates. Due to popular demand from last year’s beginner class participants, intermediate classes will be offered for the first time.
Any Korean nationals who are registered Jeju citizens can sign up for the lesson. The classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, starting April 21 until June. Participants will learn from horseback riding theories to techniques.
Original price for the horseback riding lessons is 600,000 won, however, Jeju City will subsidize the cost by 50 percent to make it more affordable for Jeju citizens. Please note that due the steep discount, Jeju City has stipulated that non-Koreans are not eligible. Applications can be found on the Federation of Horseback Riding Jeju City’s Web site (http://cafe.daum.net/jejucity.h-s), and can be submitted either through the Web site or faxed to the Federation (064-724-9969), from April 6 to 16. The first 70 applicants will be granted spots. Jeju City will continue to sponsor horse-related businesses to utilize Jeju horses as tourism resources, education, and more. For more information, call the Federation of Horseback Riding Jeju City at 070-4245-9969. |
