Many expats came to Korea to teach English to Korean students or for their jobs. Many expats are residing in Jeju too. They also have their own sports day. On May 26, there was expat's beach volleyball festival that is held by Jeju Furey in Hamduk Seoubong beach. Many expats gathered to join this festival.
Many expats and Koreans who are participated in this expat's beach volleyball festival for playing volleyball or just for watching it. Sylvia from South Africa said,” It is really nice because not only playing volleyball is fun but also the view of Hamduk Seoubong beach is beautiful.”
Also, this festival is meaningful because it can help poor people. Expats have to pay entry fee. Most of them also bought some beer and lunch. These profits will be used for poor people. Probably, it is one of the reasons that they participated in this festival. The founder, Daniel Nabben who is from Cananda, said that he had a friend who had passed away several years ago. But this friend had two children. He wanted to help his left family. After that, he has concerned about helping poor people. That’s why he has started this kind of festival.
This festival helps expats to get closer. They could have opportunity that they can remove their stress. So, most of expats said that they will join this festival again next time. On October this year there is expat volley ball festival again. Will you join with them?
