A beach volleyball tournament will be held on July 13 at Hamdeok Beach to raise funds to pay for permanent courts to be constructed. Volleyball tournaments, such as Furey Foundation events have become more common in recent years. Permanent courts cost as much as 1.5 million won each.
The goal is for two courts to be built by September/October of this year. The event has been organized by a group of local volleyball enthusiasts. Although the event is not affiliated with Furey, it is fully supported. 'Nopy' Hyunseung Kim is among the organizers who is also helping Jeju Furey negotiate with Hamdeok to get permanent courts.
