Dongan Gyeong-gul, affectionately known as “whale nostril cave” invites locals, and tourists as well as music enthusiasts to the 2009 Cave Music Concert at 3p.m on Oct. 17. The annual cave concert which has extraordinary acoustics has been held by Cave Sound Institute since September 1997. Dongan Gyeong-gul, one of the 8 best sights of Udo, is a cave within a cave. It is under water during high-tide and reveals itself only when the tide is low. Ferries to Udo are available at Seongsan Harbor in Seongsan. The ferry runs every hour, on the hour, and takes about 15 minutes, allowing time for visitors to observe Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak) and the mounded slope of Udo. A 5-minute ride on the bus or in your own vehicle takes you from Udo port to Dongan gyeon-gul. (Udo terminal 064-783-0448, Seongsan harbor terminal 064-782-5671)
