The fountain rises and splashes down, and goes back to where it was scattered. The children run around and make noise. People pass by the traditional market and everyone has smiles on their faces as they go on their way.

The ocarina concert, part of the 2013 midsummer small music concert, was held beside the fountain at Dongmun Traditonal Market on July 31. The place was full of cheerful crowds on the last night of July.

Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is providing music concerts for tourists and locals until Aug. 14 every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The small concert takes place at Sanjicheon Bridge and at the fountain next to Dongmun Traditonal Market.

The ocarina performance included a student solo and an 11-year-old girl who performed wonderfully. The performance went on until 8:30 p.m. Families, lovers, and friends all gathered to watch. They seemed to enjoy taking one hour off from their busy lives during the hot summer at Dongmun.

The sound of the ocarina instrument, the smell of the ocean, the cool sound of the spring, and the flickering of the sky, was joined by children’s cheers as a Jeju’s summer night was whispering to walkers.
