As the world becomes a global village, we can see many celebrated multinational leaders. Many students want to study abroad to increase their ability to compete as a global leader. To do so, countless parents are interested in educating their children in English and international studies. To meet that demand and to discover and develop talent, JDC (Jeju Free International City Development Center) built Jeju Global Educaton City located in Jeju Seogipo-si Daejung eup.

The Jeju Global Education City includes international schools, an English Education Center and residential districts. In 2011, North London Collegiate School Jeju (NLCS Jeju) and Korea International School Jeju (KIS Jeju) were opened. Then, in 2012, Branksome Hall Asia (BHA) was estabilished with about 350 students attending.

Branksome Hall Canada (BHC), the sister school to Bransome Hall Asia, is a prestigious school that has produce excellent students whom have entered IVY League Universities, including Oxford University. About 40% of the graduates continue on and attend an IVY League school. BHA uses the same curriculum as BHC. From kingdergarten to elementary school, 3rd grade, there is a co-educational system. After that period, it is a girls’ only school. All classes and extra-activites are in Engish. An interesting point is that BHA operates using the IB(International Baccalaureate) system. The IB system is a program that is made through the students’ learning development process. It is the official internationally approved curriculum that includes classes in the English language, Economics, Social Studies, Physics, Humanities, Experimental Science and Visual Arts. When students finish the program, they qualify to attend about 2500 different colleges.

One of the most striking aspects of the curriculum is the STEMV Center (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Visual Arts) which provides an environment where students can visualizes and find their own talents.

With these extraordinary curriculum, BHA girls can take steps to the global leader. The principle of BHA, Glen Radojkovich said, “We are making not only smart students but also caring, princpled and open-minded students who reach their full potential. Through these programs, children communicate with others and can learn human relationships and it can be helpful to accomplish their academic success.”

There is a sign on BHA entrance that says, “We inspire the scientists, doctors, dancers, leaders, writers, musicians, engineers, architects, CEOs, chefs, pharmacists, dentists, vets, golfers, photographers, accountants, nurses, pilots, and etc of tomorrow.” Like these comments, Branksome Hall Asia hopes there will be numerous varsatile girls of tomorrow.
