This generator is the 16th in Haengwon-ri and was constructed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd whose total investment is now 2.7 billion won. The total period of construction was five months from July to November, 2013. The generator will be connected to the existing generation facilities at the site and JEC expects 700 million won in proft from electricity sales.
Jeju Self-Governing Province has been promoting renewable energy and especially wind power generation. This draws from Jeju tradition as the island was known as samda-do, the island of three plenties: women, stones and wind. |
