On March 14 to 16, Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO; President: Yang Young-Keun) and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province promoted Jeju golf at the China Golf Show 2014 hosted by CGA (China Golf Association) and sponsored by PGA.
The China Golf Show is the largest golf fair in Asia. This year, they had about 480 exhibition booths and 20 thousand attendees. According to CGA, the Chinese golf market is growing by 20~30 percent every year and they predict the market will comprise 20 million people by 2020.
Jeju golf attracted a great deal of attention at the show giving the industry great exposure. Jeju’s advantages such as accessibility, direct flights and no-visa entry were publicized alongside tourist attractions such as cruises, natural beauty, and the excellent infrastructure. The merits of the Jeju golf industry were also aired on L¨· Y¨®u w¨¨i shº, China's only travel and leisure channel.
A travel company insider said, “We promoted 'Island Golf Tours' in Hawaii for leading China MICE industries, but in the future we will concentrate on Jeju golf products.”Another tour provider said, 'We're going to invite the presidents of golf clubs in China to enjoy 'Healing Golf in Jeju.
