On May 3, 2014 the Jeju Junior Journalists went to Samseonghyeol, which has a legendary story. Samseonghyeol is the place where the Jeju’s culture started. About for 4300 years ago, three different people whose first names were.Ko, Yang, and Bu came out from the large holes at the park. Then they became adults and each married one of three princesses. They made Tamra island which is now known as Jeju.
We wanted to find out what people think who visit Jeju. So we interviewed other visitors about why they come to this park and Jeju. We interviewed five people who visited Samseonghyeol. We disovered that many people visit Jeju to take a rest and others came to do their work.
We watched a video about Samseonghyeol’s legend story and we learned new things. After that, the JDC junior journalists questioned the woman who was also watching the video. THe 47 year old Jung Jin-hun said, ” I’m from Bundang, Gyeonggi Province, and I ame to Jeju island to rest. Jeju has a very nice views, and lots of food to eat. To develop Jeju further, the island has to make new tourist spots.”
We looked for people who would allow us to interview them. Two woman are named Bak Seorin and Jo Yesseul came to Jeju for traveling. They said, “Jeju is very pretty and Korea is lucky to have beautiful place like Jeju. To inform people about the appeal of Jeju it is important that it promotes often. If someone wants to visit Jeju, we recommand Udo island, and Gwakjji beach. Jeju is always a very beautiful place.”
One person we interviewed was working in Samseonghyeol. His name is Yang Yeong-gook. Thanks to him, we got to know that descendents of the orignal people are the only ones who can work in Samseonghyeol. This man felt that people come to Jeju to enjoy many things. He said “Jeju’s famous publicity should be known, and that requires it to be designated in the 7 new wonders of the world.” Also, he recommended that if you want to learn about Jeju, you have to visit Samseonghyeol because, here is where Jeju’s culture started.
Samseonghyeol for us to be interviewed in a very good experience. I think it is perfect tourist spot, don’t you think? Why don’t we go and see Samseonghyeol?
