Five students from Shinseong Girl’s High School joined 35 other students from across Korea for a voluntary project in the Philippiness from July 24 to 31.
Shinseong students made photobooks for the edu-cation and donation activity, “Photo bridges for connecting the world,” beginning back in May. The students translated 80 books into English and gave them to 150 children in distressed areas of the Southeast Asian country.
It was a big challenge for the students and one of the participants said, “I realized that through my ability and effort I could be connected with the world. I hope my efforts bring joy to the children in the Philipinnes.”
A donation campaign was started at the school and one student, Yu Garam, gave her 1 million won prize to the effort. The students’ union also held a flea market and a total of 1.7 million won will be donated.
