Jeju International Healing & Art Festival (JIHAF) -- "Breathing with Jeju 2014"
Sept. 19 to 21 at Jeju Stone Park
The inaugural JIHAF, a celebration of healing and the arts, will take place at Jeju Stone Park over three days from Sept. 19. At a press conference to promote the event dancer Hong Shin-cha said that Jeju was chosen at it perfectly complements the event's themes of healing and rest. "This is a healing island, in the forest, stones and oreum," she said, adding: "It somehow feels non-Korean, even though it is Korea."
Hong said she event will help introduce people to a broad array of arts which all focus on healing, with yoga and dance particularly well represented. She said the arts at the event are to be absorbed: "We feel the arts directly through our hearts," she said. She added that there are plans to make it annual to help increase access to the arts on Jeju.
