Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is holding the 2014 International Youth Cyber Environmental Forum for international youths at youth.encynet.org. This forum will be ongoing from Sept. 12 to 30 for 18 days. The forum discusses and proposes solutions to the world's environmental problems.
11 teams from middle and high schools and six teams from universities participate and choose one topic from social, policy or professional sections. They then propose solutions and also make video presentations online. Three teams have submitted proposals in English.
After the online discussion, professional evaluations and cyber activity calculations will be undertaken on the 17 proposals, with two teams receiving prizes from the Ministry of Environment. Also, four teams will receive prizes from the Jeju governor with cash prizes as high as 3 million won.
Anyone can join in the online discussions which are held in Korean and English and translations of participants' suggestions will be provided. To participate in the online discussion, register with your email address and name at youth.encynet.org.
