The five best proposals at the 2014 International Youth Cyber Environmental Forum received prizes on Oct. 22 from the Ministry of the Environment and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.
Team ASURA (Park Hyeonggun, Koh Jihae and Jeong Hayeon / university entry) and MFB team (Kim Lizie, Lee Katniss and Ko Yoona / middle and high school entry) were chosen by the Ministry of Environment.
ASURA proposed printing on both sides of paper on the subject of, “Ways of contributing to environmental conservation within school life.” ASURA received a high score from professionals after detailed preparation and surveys among students at Seoul National University about the topic.
Team MFB, all high school students from Korea International School (Jeju), suggested forest planting within large cities on the topic of “Solutions to the impact of Climate Change on Humans and Wildlife.”
Other winners, receiving awards from the Jeju governor, were: Team Neolpum (Jeong Sungji, Jeong Dahye and Han Seongseup); Team Yejibong (Kim Jiye, Choi Gobong and Lee Sueji); Team Athena (Kang Sehee, Kim Bomi and Ko Bugyeong); and, Team Kock kock (Kim Hyunji and Lee Siyeon).
The forum proposals were submitted in August and an online discussion forum was held at youth.encynet.org between Sept. 12 and 30 involving over 400 discussions. |
