2014 Jeju Art Fair, Seom, Sseom and Sam (“Island, Love and Life”) opens from Nov. 7 to Jan. 31 at several hotels around Gwandeok-ro, Jeju City.
There is also a three-day project from Nov. 7 to 9 in booths at six hotels, with the exhibits then going on sale, the art pieces between Nov. 12 and Dec. 12 and the living design items from Dec. 20 to Jan. 31.
In a statement, Park Eunhee, repesentative of Via Art, and Lee Janghee, director of Glocal Culture Contents Laboratory, said the event reflects Jeju’s changing demographics.
“Recently new residents are increasing, who returned after several years outside of Jeju, and there are also new arrivals looking for a relaxing life in Jeju. There are especially many artists among them. This event will be a great opportunity to communicate and share for such people. On the other hand, we also want to make attractive spaces through the arts on 15-gil Gwandeok-ro, old Jeju City.”
To help revive this area of town, and as part of Jeju Art Fair, art will be displayed at the following businesses:
Daedong Hotel, Dongsungjang, Yusungjang, Yikoyi Guest House, Yellow Guest House and The Forest Guest House, all located on 15-gil Gwandeok-ro, Jeju City.
