Making Jeju traditional pottery, "Onggi," is based on Jeju’s "Sunoreum" (village cooperative labor) spirit. It is organized by the economic communities known as ‘gye’ and together a "gul" (kiln) is made. The local character of this tradition needs to be protected and kept sustainable as a traditional cultural resource.
