This message was sent by the International Judo Federation president, Marius L. Vizer:
"The IJF World Judo Tour is set for South Korea and the Judo Grand Prix, Jeju 2014.
The three-day event is in its second year and will be the last Grand Prix of the year as the season concludes a week later at the Tokyo Grand Slam.
South Korea have an abundance of exceptional judoka in their ranks and their Olympic and Asian champions will be savouring the chance to compete on home soil after a long year travelling the world.
Jeju’s premier sporting event also presents the opportunity for judo supporters on the island to rally behind their charges and show their pride in the way the team represents their country on the international circuit with such great success.
The Korean Judo Association delivered great hospitality last year and received a strong entry for the launch edition of the event. Judoka and officials can expect another memorable stay in South Korea this year as the last but one opportunity on the IJF stage to earn World Ranking List points in 2014.
I would like to thank the Association and all their partners and supporters for being ambassadors for the sport and the International Judo Federation. I wish good luck to the organisers and the competitors. I trust that you will convey the values and spirit of judo in your actions and commit yourselves to your role with great energy and enthusiasm.
