Saeyeon Bridge joined more than locations on Dec. 3 when it was the venue for the wedding ceremony of Jeju native Ha Young Jun and his bride, Han Moon Yang, of Shenyang, China. The newly opened bridge, which connects Seogwipo Harbor and Saesom (Bird Island) seemed an appropriate venue as the couple had faced years of opposition to the match from both sets of parents.

Park Youngbu, the mayor of Seogwipo City, officiated at the ceremony, which was featured in the daily newspaper of the bride’s hometown, which reported that the “Jeju groom and Chinese bride began their romantic journey at Saeyeon Bridge on Jeju, a paradise destination for newlyweds.”
