Jeju Special Self-Governing Province will fund 100 billion won for electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructures for 2016.
In aiming to add 3,996 EVs to the roads, the province will provide 78.8 billion won to people purchasing the vehicles with 15.8 billion won available for charging equipment.
The province will also provide educational institutes with 95 million won for EVs and 20 million won for chargers. Other public offices will have access to a 1.5 billion won fund for subsidies.
To improve infrastructure, the province will spend 250 million won on call center operation and EV special events.
