The Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration and the Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Promotion of Climate-Related Industries in Jeju on Nov 30.
Starting next year, the two institutes will support businesses in smart tourism, new and renewable energy and senary agriculture which combines primary, secondary and tertiary industries.
The MOU is also expected to boost start-up businesses providing climatic information services.
The Meteorological Administration stated that the agreement will lead to improved utilization of climate- and weather-related information in the creative industrial sectors through the use of public data in the private sector.
