The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has awarded Jeju Geo and Seogwipo City as part of the Korea Tourism Awards.
Jeju Geo, a geo-tourism brand developed by the Jeju Tourism Organization, and Seogwipo City, the southernmost city in Korea, were included by the Ministry in its list of 14 winners in 11 categories.
Jeju Geo received high marks for local income generation in the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries by utilizing the UNESCO Global Geopark brand.
Seogwipo City earned high appraisal for its customized marketing campaigns and its participation in K-Smile, a state-led campaign to encourage hospitality toward visitors.
