To boost sports on the island, plans have been announced to build a second football and sports complex at Oedo, a village on the western outskirts of Jeju City.

The province announced yesterday that the football complex will help upgrade Jeju’s sporting infrastructure.

The plans date back to 2008 with land purchases and more detailed plans progressing since then.

The city will invest 1.5 billion won in the project by the end of this year with a total of 4.8 billion won invested by the end of 2017.

The City now boasts 45 soccer fields across the municipal area including the recently finished complex at Jocheon-eup.
