Art school to be created in honor of late cartoonist
A school dedicated to the late cartoonist (양병윤) Yang Byeong-yoon will be established in Hallim-eup, Jeju City.
Yang was the creator of the popular editorial cartoon strip (황우럭) Hwang Woo-ruk and was Korea’s first four-frame editorial comic strip artist.
The cartoonist's birthplace in Hallim will be converted into a school and museum after undergoing extension work.
The school will be used as an open venue for cartoon-related lectures and drawing classes. The building will also house a cartoon cafe and museum dedicated to the late artist.
