One day before it officially opens, the Jeju Biennale held a press day today at the exhibition at Jeju Alteureu Airfield.

Here are some pictures from the day!

This photo shows one of the hangars at the airfield. The rainbow colored sandbags in front of the hangar are by an artist called Ok Jeong-ho.

The piece is called "Coming out of the trenches" and it has been designed as a gesture of peace.

This nine-meter high statue is called 'Blue Bird.' It is by Choi Pyeong-gon and the towering structure is also described as a symbolic message of peace.

This wire plane is in the shape of the planes that were used at the time the airfield was built. It is a permanent fixture at the airfield.

While this one looks similar to the above plane. If you look closely you can see it has a broken wing. It was designed by Gang Mun-seok and shows the ruins of war.

Of course, the art on display isn't the only thing of beauty you can see at the Airfield. On a clear day like today, the view of Sanbangsan is also incredible!
