Jeju Shinhwa World, the huge resort that is currently being constructed in south-west Jeju, will officially open on Dec. 8.
This will be just over two months after the opening of the Shinhwa World Theme Park which will be on Sept. 30. The theme park is just one part of the overall resort.
Facilities opening on Dec. 8 will be the Marriot Resort Jeju Shinhwa World and Landing Hotel, a MICE center, themed restaurants and food streets, a retail mall, and a casino.
According to Landing International, the current number of people employed by Jeju Shinhwa World is 1,300. This is expected to rise to 2,100 by the end of 2017, and 5,000 by the time the park is fully completed in 2019.
USD 1.5 Billion
It has also recently been found that Landing International Development Limited has put an extra USD 300 million into the Shinhwa World Project. This brings the total amount invested up to USD 1.5 billion which is the largest amount ever invested in a one-stop integrated resort in Korea.
In total, when the resort is completed it will span approximately 2.5 million Square meters.
