Rodong Sinmun, North Korea's main newspaper, claims that 4.7 million students and workers have volunteered to join the military or re-enlist in the army after Kim Jong-un condemned the United States.

The newspaper said, "Three days after Kim’s statement released, 120,000 workers in North Pyongan Province and 97,000 workers in South Hwanghae Province were voluntarily join the arm and even some 1.22 million women vowed to voluntarily join or re-enlist.

When the tension arose, North Korea publicly announced that young people voluntarily join the army in order to promote citizens’ solidarity.

Rodong Sinmun also claimed that when U.N. Security Council adopted resolutions over Pyongyang, 3.4 million people voluntarily join the army for three days.
