With the prestigious World Conservation Congress of 2012 on its way, the Jeju Self-Governing Province has begun preparing by passing a bill through the national assembly that stipulates a large amount financial support from the central government. The first job on the agenda in the island’s preparation plans is to establish the 201 2 WCC organizing committee as a foundation and then set up facilities as well as the execution of PR plans, such as developing the logo for the event. The Jeju Self-Governing Province hopes the congress will not only raise awareness and pique interest in Jeju, but also help establish the island as a conservation capital.
