Starting on June 19 with Iho Tewoo Beach and Jungmun Beach, all the beaches in Jeju will officially be open to public by June 26. With investment of about 400 million won from the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Iho Tewoo Beach, Hamdeok Seowoobong Beach and Hyeopjae Beach will open until 10 p.m. from June 17 to Aug. 15. The province has not only checked the life-guard towers and rescue equipment, but plans to increase the number of public lifeguards from 35 to 47. Prior to this summer, Jeju changed the names of 10 beaches to encourage people to visit them during all four seasons.
