Seogwipo was named a superior city by the Ministry of Food Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries for incentives to help its residents increase their income. After assessing the Agricultural Village Development Project, the Ministry commended Seogwipo’s Gamsan and Daepyeongkwon areas for successfully remodeling a youth center and establishing facilities such as greenhouses.

The Seogwipo City government has said it will allocate 56 billion won of its development fund to loans for farmers and fishermen during the second half of this year. The interest rates will be 2.5 percent.

The city started accepting fund applications at local community service centers on July 19 and will continue until Aug. 9.
