Jeju Province and the Korean Federation of Arts and Culture have decided to promote the Jeju Tamna Cultural Festival as a representative regional festival on Jeju.
Currently, about 30 regional festivals are held each year on the island. However, it has been noted that there is no regional festival that represents the city of Jeju itself.
Jeju is therefore taking measures to foster some local festivals as festivals representative of the island’s main city.
First, Jeju will consider this year as the first year where the Jeju Tamna Cutural Festival is considered Jeju’s representative festival. The Tamna festival itself is linked to 10 others, and so will establish a close cooperation system between them. These 10 regional festivals include the 3rd Global Jeju Business Conference, the Korean Music Festival, the Korea-China Cultural Exchange Fair, as well as the Tamna Choral Festival
Meanwhile, the 52nd Tamna Cultural Festival will be held for four days beginning October 2nd at the Tapdong Square in Jeju
