The weather is warming up and that means dusting off the tent and heading to the woods. Here is a guide to some of Jeju’s most popular sites away from the beaches.

Bonggae Sammu Campsite

Once a branch of Samyang school, the facilities have been reconstructed as a campsite run by the Jeju Ecological City Research Center. Tents can be pitched anywhere in the school grounds.

Hallasan Gwaneumsa Campsite

Lawn, wood, and ground campsites are available. Each site has lots of trees and plenty of shade with space for 30-40 tents. Due to the altitude it is relatively cool in summer and there is good hiking nearby.

The visitor center provides coffee and computers and other facilities include toilets, a small shop and autocamping.

1,000 won per adult and 4,000 won per tent (additional fee for autocamping)

This site boasts various flora which changes with the seasons: azaleas in spring, the cooling forest in summer, changing colors in autumn and white snow in winter.

Donnaeko Valley

All facilities available except electricity. There is also an outdoor gym and small shop near the valley entrance.

In midsummer, many people order in some chicken and have water therapy to heal neuralgia. The water flows from Mt. Hallasan and is always refreshingly cool and clean.

Moguri Campsite

All facilities available including entertainment such as sports, inline skating and survival games.

The impressive leisure facilities available make this a favorite for families and children. Nature lovers can also enjoy Seongsan Sunrise Peak, Sinyang Beach and Moguri Oreum for hiking.
