15 years ago (May 2002), a female tea house employee in Busan was murdered. After the murder, her credit card was twice used to take money from an ATM.
While there was CCTV footage of the people taking out money from the bank, there had never been a way to identify the people seen in the footage.
However, last year the Busan Police Department uploaded an image of the suspect taken from the CCTV footage to their Social Network accounts. After this, there was a flurry of interest and the suspect was identified and arrested in just 10 days.
The story didn’t end there, though. While the person identified via social media was one of the suspects, she wasn’t the only one. A man was also suspected of being part of the murder but he disappeared after the woman was arrested.
Yesterday, after a chase that lasted another one year and four months, this second suspect was was finally found and arrested.
